Sister Kimberly L. Strickland

Kimberly L. Strickland was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1970. She attended Roosevelt Elementary, Durfee Middle and Central High Schools in the Detroit Public School System. Throughout her youth, she enjoyed cheerleading and roller skating.   In 1988, she was accepted to Marygrove College to study Computer Science. In 1991, Kimberly gave her life to Christ in the cafeteria of Marygrove College. She then joined Word of Faith International Christian Center in 1991 where she was an active member and volunteer until December 2017.  In 1993, she graduated from Marygrove with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. She worked as a consultant for Ford Motor Company for two years and then returned to Marygrove College where she completed her Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Management in 1997.


In  2001, Kimberly wrote a book titled From Roaches to Riches declaring  that your beginning does not have to determine your ending. Although  this book was written with young people in mind, it received an  overwhelming response from people of all ages and is still selling  today.


Kimberly has a passion for encouraging people to pursue higher education and help them break down the financial barriers of paying for college. She began her 15 year financial aid career at Davenport University.  She continued to developed her financial aid skills at the University of Detroit Mercy.  Her most recent position held was the Director of Financial Aid at Marygrove College where she worked until she married Pastor Bobby Strickland and relocated to Chicago, Illinois.  


While Kimberly will always love her hometown, she was excited to join Pastor Bobby and the New Life In Christ Ministry family. 


In her spare time, she enjoys supporting the ministry and teaching the Word of God beside her husband. Made in Detroit, Home  Sweet Home in Chicago.
